AZ: U of A Student Alive Because he Lives Off Campus

If he had lived on campus it would have been illegal for him to have the gun that he used to save his own life early this morning when two thugs broke into his home. The headline likely would have instead been "Student found dead, Police asking for any information that could help them identify the suspects." Can anyone tell me why adults who live or attend school at an educational institution should not have the same freedom to defend themselves on campus that they already enjoy outside of the so-called Gun Free School Zones? No? I thought not.

Luckily this story had a happy ending because the student happened to be off campus when the attack took place early this morning, and he was smart enough to be prepared with a good tool for his own self defense. He would not have had time to wait for a response to a 911 call, so he took care of the immediate problem himself, and then called the Police to have them help clean up the mess. Let us all work together during the next legislative session to fix the unconstitutional laws in Arizona that currently create these so-called "Gun Free School Zones." With a little effort in the future we can hear more happy endings like this and less of the rapes, assaults, or murders of defenseless adults currently forced to live, work, or attend school inside Defenseless Victim Zones.

AL: Thugs Demanded Cash - Given Lead Instead

Two armed thugs approached a man in Pleasant Grove Alabama & demanded money. Instead of giving money, he gave lead. Now one thug is dead, another on the run. End result? One less thug on the streets.

Cost of spent ammunition: $1. Money saved taxpayers by having one less Thug to incarcerate: $62/day. Value of one less possibility of a future criminal assault or rape after a likely future parole: Priceless.

This is very scary. Are we going to get a fair election this year after Obama's campaign paid Acorn hundreds of thousands of dollars to essentially submit fake voter registrations (not to mention the millions Acorn has received over the years in taxpayer dollars)? Watch for Fraudulant $2300 Credit Card Charges from Obama Campaign

I guess Obama must be seriously short of cash during these final weeks of the Presidential election. As if it were not bad enough to have your credit card info stolen & used fraudulently in the first place, having the stolen funds used to support Obama ads insult to injury! I'm checking my credit card records right now.

NORTH KANSAS CITY, MO. -- A North Kansas City couple has been left scratching their heads after they became the victims of a political scam.

Steve and Rachel Larman say a strange credit card charge appeared on their statement this month -- a $2300 donation to Barack Obama's presidential campaign. The Larman's say they don't want this to be about their political affiliation, but they say they're not about to give the Obama campaign any help from their pocketbook.

They said they notified Chase, their credit card bank, to report the fraud.

"(They) said that they had seen-they were familiar with this," said Steve Larman. "It was fraud, they believe through telemarketing but they were going to be doing some more investigations."

The Larman's don't want their politics to enter into what is essentially just a fraudulent charge. But they say that the charge involves the Obama campaign adds insult to injury for the registered Republicans.

"They (Chase) kept on asking me 'are you sure you wouldnt have gone to a site in support of Obama'," said Rachel Larman. "And I repeatedly said 'Im voting for McCain - I would not be going to an Obama site'."

Chase dropped the charge from the Larman's card. The couple is thankful thay they caught the charge on the card, but worried that others may not see that type of fraud on their own credit cards before it's too late.

"You always get emails saying be on the lookout," said Rachel. "So I just wanted to get the word out, that there's someone out there perpetrating this against people, and to pay attention."

The Obama campaign said they were aware of the Larman's story, but did not have any comment.

As an aside, if you missed the Gun Rights Policy Conference this year you should definitely order a CD archive of the GRPC from Charles Heller. I've ordered a copy myself just so that I could listen to it again. :)

Obama Supporter Called My Son a Racist for his Support of McCain/Palin

My boys wore McCain/Palin hats to school today as it is a special "hat donation day" where the school allows hats to be worn inside the classrooms all day in exchange for a $1 donation to the school. An 8th Grade Obama supporter came up to my oldest son & told him that he was a racist for not supporting Obama. The Obama supporter told my son that his parents are going to vote for Barack Obama because he's black & it's time for our Country to have a Black president no matter who the black person is who is running.

I was dumbfounded. I've heard of this type of viewpoint in the past but it was the first such statement expressed directly to a member of my family. Talk about a racist - anyone who chooses or rejects a President based on his or her skin color is a racist, not the other way around. I'm all about promoting color & gender blindness.

If Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, or Alan Keys were running under any ticket with half a chance of beating Obama in this election I'd vote for any of them in a heartbeat. It's the person's ideas, moral character, and the direction that they want to take our country in that I vote for, not skin color or gender. I don't understand why so many people cry "racist!" whenever anyone brings up any issue related to Obama's run for the Presidency. Those are the closed minded racists, not my son.

AZ: Negligent Discharge by Prohibited Possesser

It's felons like this that lead to the Brady types calling for more restrictions on our freedoms. Yet he is already a convicted felon & isn't even allowed to touch a gun much less own one. However, the Brady folks would contend that if they can just make it a little more illegal to illegally possess a weapon then they could somehow force idiots to not do idiotic or illegal things with guns they are not even allowed to own. The logic is impossible to follow unless you have the mind of a wombat (Before my inbox gets flooded with hate mail, I apologize in advance to all wombats & wombat admirers. You are correct, even wombats are not batty enough to indulge in such illogical thinking).

CA: Orange County Sheriff Revokes 146 CCW Permits

Apparently Orange County California Sheriff Sandra Hutchens has arbitrarily decided whose lives are not valuable enough to have their civil rights & freedoms respected. That's right, Sheriff Sandra Hutchens has sent out 146 CCW permit revocation letters letting law abiding citizens know that she doesn't feel they face enough danger so she is going to trample on their natural born but constitutionally protected right to defend themselves.

"The Department has determined that your identified risk does not meet the good cause threshold as required under the new CCW policy based upon the information you provided. As a result of this determination, the Department's present intention is to revoke your CCW license," reads the form letter sent out this month.

The letter, sent out under the signature of Captain Dave Nighswonger, advises current holders that if they feel that additional information should be considered they have roughly one month to provide additional good cause information for the department to consider before the revocation becomes final.

As you may recall, I've discussed Sheriff Sandra Hutchens in the past.

I propose that the citizens of Orange County should send her a clear & unmistakable message during her future election (I'd say next election but she hasn't actually been elected yet - she has only been temporarily appointed until the next election) - it's a big bitter pill called loosing her future election. Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, for not only failing to uphold the civil rights of the citizens in the County you swore to uphold & protect, but actually throwing them down in the mud & trampling them under your feet, I present you with the Sleazy Politician of the day award. You're also a contender for Sleazy Politician of the year, but there is a lot of competition for that title so it is not yet decided. I hope you enjoy a long prosperous career at McDonald's after you loose your upcoming election. You should start practicing this line now in front of a mirror so that you'll be ready for your next career: "Would you like fries with that?"

TN: Two Armed Robbers Attacked the Wrong Man

Two Felons attempted armed robbery using BB guns on the wrong man earlier this week in Nashville Tennessee. The threatened man pulled out his handgun loaded with .410 shotgun shells & opened fire in defense of his life. The article didn't specify what handgun he used to defend himself, but I'm wondering if it may have been The Judge made by Taurus.

One of the armed robbers didn't survive his bullet wounds & will soon be placed safely under ground where he will no longer pose a threat to society. The other armed robber recovered & is at least temporarily safely behind bars facing charges of attempted aggravated robbery which if convicted will add to his already long wrap sheet. I hope his brush with death will motivate him to choose a safer line of work after he is released back into society. If not, hopefully the next time he threatens the life of an armed citizen he'll end up in the plot of dirt right next to his friend.

UK: Walking Stick Confiscated as Offensive Weapon

I already knew self defense & handguns were banned in the UK, but I had no idea walking sticks were as well. 78 year old retired teacher Philip Clarkson Webb was walking down the street with his walking stick when he found himself surrounded by Police who took his walking stick away saying it was an "offensive weapon". He was then left to shuffle along the street as best he could with no walking aid. To add insult to injury, when he later took his receipt in to ask for it back, he was told they had lost it:

They must have known he was a troublemaker the moment they saw him.

With his white hair, wax jacket and glasses, 78-year-old Philip Clarkson Webb clearly ticked all the boxes any eagle-eyed policemen would mark as 'danger'.

And as he shuffled along the pavement towards them there was one thing above all they deemed to pose a threat - his walking stick.

The officers surrounded the retired classics teacher and informed him the 3ft wooden cane was an 'offensive weapon' and had to be confiscated . . . When he later went to collect it from his local police station in Southborough, Kent, with his police receipt, he was told it had been misplaced . . .

AZ: Woman Defends Her Life With Her Gun

Once again, we see that guns are more effective than restraining orders, I for one am glad she had a gun:

PHOENIX -- Police have identified the man killed in a confrontation at a woman's home Sunday, and they say there was a history of violence there.

According to police, Terry Milburn, 45, went to the victim's house near 40th Avenue and Thunderbird Road at about 2:30 Sunday morning.

The woman, whose name has not been released, refused to let Milburn into her house and called 911. While she was on the phone, Milburn broke a window and forced his way inside, police said.

Investigators said Milburn then followed the woman to her bedroom where she shot and killed him.

While the exact relationship between the two is not clear, police said the woman had a restraining order against Millburn and that there was a history of violence between them.
