Debate: Wayne LaPierre Vs. Ed Rendell

Wayne LaPierre & PA Governor Ed Rendell debate Gun Control on CBS "Face the Nation".  Rendell calls for Gun Bans & 1 gun a month laws:

Related Washington Times story.

One question for my friends in PA: Where did you dig this guy up?  Hopefully you can get rid of him during the next election.  Consider replacing him with someone who understands the restraints on government powers built into the Constitution & the Bill of Rights.  For the slower minds like Ed it is even called the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs.

As far as his lame comparison to how much trouble you can get into for shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theater when no fire exists - we already have the same restraint on guns.  I can carry my gun into a crowded theater but I can't wave it around or threaten people with it, much less fire it.  Unless I'm using my gun to defend human life and all of the legal requirements for the self defense justification are fully met.  Even then I'd be fully liable for any innocent life affected by my actions.

Actually, "Fast Eddie" Rendell was a pretty damn good PROSECUTING District Attorney during the RIZZO administration in Philly.
Crime was LOWER then, than any time since!
Then again, Rizzo didn't take any s**t!
When Rendell got larger than his pants was when he fell off the "turnip truck", politically-speaking.
And I've not liked him since, sad to say.

Be nice to get another TOM RIDGE in the gov's chair again.

I do feel for the state..it's where I was born.

Wayne Lapierre is one of the reasons why I am a member of the NRA, I like his no B S attitude and he is not afraid to call someone on their misinformation or outright lies

Yes he did a great job. The host was clearly biased against guns so Wayne was really debating 2 anti gun folks rather than just 1.

Sorry mate, but the 2nd Amendment, allowing as it does for private citizens to own anything from a hand gun to a WMD is an evident anachronism. There is a reason why deaths from gun crime and penetration of gun ownership correlate almost perfectly. You can read more about this here:

Moshin: Actually the arms discussed in the 2nd Amendment only apply to small arms used by individuals. It does not apply to larger weapons that require entire teams to deploy & utilize such as tanks, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Bombers, etc.

As far as any correlation of rate of death by gun fire & availability of guns I might point out that it makes little difference to the victim if his or her life is ended at the point of a gun, a knife, or a baseball bat. You need to look at the total rate of murder, not the rate of murder by guns.

Additionally we already have locations in the US that completely ban handguns such as Washington DC where clearly the ban has not reduced the murder rate. Even if you could turn back time to the age before guns were invented, you'd see that the weak were ruled by the strong. Guns have leveled the playing field - the armed 110 Lb woman is now equal to the 300 Lb rapist. God created Man, but Sam colt made them equal. I have no desire to return to the Dark Ages.

On the off chance that you have poor financial assessments, it can influence your capacity to acquire a wide range of fundamental things including a home loan, Visas and even your next auto. Poor FICO ratings may imply your powerlessness to reimburse an advance to a fund organization, and it makes you seem, by all accounts, to be a more prominent credit hazard. car title loans
