In yet another display of Zero Tolerance=Zero Thought school policy enforcement, Marie Morrow, a Senior High School student at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora Colorado has been suspended for possession of a fake drill team gun. The fake gun was safe & sound in the back of her vehicle, not causing any harm to anyone, but that wasn't good enough for the thoughtless School officials who decided to suspend her for 10 days.
All Marie Morrow wanted to do was serve her country through the Douglass County Young Marines Leadership group, but all she got due to zero tolerance school policy & its bureaucratic enforcers was a 10 day school suspension. Reprehensible. The School officials who made this decision should all be fired. The School Board who created the Zero Tolerance policy should all be thrown out of office. The reason for termination listed on the pink slip should read "Nothing but mush between the ears, recommend consideration of a career flipping burgers, if that isn't above his or her level of comprehension."
Contact Cherokee Trail High School administration at 720-886-1904 as well as the corresponding Cherry Creek School District @ 303-773-1184 & let them know what you think.
Update 1: More from the NRA-ILA & the Washington Times.
Dustin, Dustin, Dustin.
ReplyDeleteDon't you know that toy gun violence has gone up in recent years? Just yesterday a boy Missouri pretended to be shot and had to be rushed to a fictional hospital. Everyone was clearly acting devastated. LOL
Seriously, revoke that stupid policy and/or fire everyone involved.
Agreed....
ReplyDeleteWhere WILL this lunacy end, if this stupid-ass policy is NOT revoked?
And it's in (of all places) COLORADO - home of the next crop of liberals (oh...joy).
Nice one, H.
But Dustin, what if this could...
ReplyDelete"save just one child? Just one! Wouldn't it all be worth it?"
Sorry, couldn't resist...
Dustin,
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is, there is a high school less than 8 miles away with a SHOOTING RANGE (for real guns)in the basement. The reason Marie was suspended was because of the school districts 'interpretation' of the law. They are as bad at practicing law as they are at practicing common sense. Trained police officers have shot people holding 'shiny' objects that they thought were guns. It's no wonder that school teachers and police had a hard time figuring out whether the 'objects' in her car were real guns, or even reasonable facsimiles. The cops said "Well, it's shiny enough to be a gun, lets go shoot her, just to ensure our safety. After all, that's what we learned from the union." The school administrators said basically the same thing, "Let's suspend her, to cover our butts. That's all we learned in getting our Master of Education." Two facts that are routinely ignored in a story like this. 1. The AVERAGE I.Q. is 100, scary huh? 2. If stupidity were against the law, administrators would be in jail already.
Yeah, I guess you could say this is a preemptive strike against her to make sure she doesn't ever have the opportunity to attack someone with her stick, at least during her 10 day suspension, unless she were to walk back onto school grounds during her suspension. LOL
ReplyDeleteThis is another reason to trust your government to make the correct decision. If we can't get the government to use common sense - the main cause of the rule fails. Since the fake gun uses fake ammo perhaps this is a fake suspension. I would get an attorney and sue the school - invasion of personal property and search without a warrant.
ReplyDeletePersonally I see very good use for government other than setting certain rules. Our great leaders have made everything first a felony, then a hate crime. There are no new rules just old ones that are harder to deal with.
