Since I do not plan on storing my weapons 'safely', I don't have to register them because it would violate my 5th amendment rights to admit that on the application.
ReplyDeleteWowzers, never thought of that.
ReplyDeleteA good judge?
ReplyDeleteDustin, God bless you. You're an IDEALIST.
GOOD JUDGE sounds a lot like FEMALE LOGIC...or MILITARY INTELLIGENCE.
With the judicial system in it's current state, I doubt if we could find one these days, given the "turn 'em loose" mentality these judges seem to display.
We can but hope.
Make this bill fail!
B.G.
(Oxymorons R Us)
Do you all have the nads to raise up your arms? You'd better. It's time for a new American Revolution. There are 85 million of us. C'mon guys! Surely we can't wait till the guns are taken, right?
ReplyDeleteI'm with anonymous and yes anonymous, I have the nads and can hardly wait for some payback, after that, how about we go and free our slave neghibors to the north and south?
ReplyDeleteI suggest we start calling the sponsors and supporters of this and other similar bill for the traitorous criminals they are!
Lets make sure everyone can recognize them by sight!
Gun registration and licensing is in NO WAY an attempt to "take away our guns". To suggest or think otherwise is simply ignorant. Gun pwnership is gaurunteed by the Constitution, and unless you're an idiot, a lunatic, or a criminal, you have zero reason to "fear" this legislation. You get a drivers license and you register your car; LEGAL gun owners should be glad to support similar licensing. A significant problem we gun owners face is that MANY of us simply see ALL gun legislation as "BAD" or as "taking away our rights". Such ignorance reflects badly on us all.
ReplyDeleteIGO: actually you are in fact the ignorant gun owner, not those of us who are against this registration & licensing law. You see, you are simply ignorant of the fact that EVERY SINGLE GUN BAN & CONFISCATION that has taken place in ANY Country was ALWAYS preceded by gun registration. You see, the government has to know where the guns are before they can attempt to take them away.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, if you spend a few seconds looking at the proposed legislation in HR 45 you will quickly see that it is intended to turn law abiding citizens into criminals for simple paperwork issues or for not requesting "permission" to keep & bear arms.
IGO I am sorry but you are an idiot, I can own a car without registering it or have a drivers license, as long as I dont take it on a public road, I am not required to register it or have a drivers license, and as Ben Frankin stated "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
ReplyDeleteWe should all up-date our licenses to "Lifetime" so we might be grand-fathered if this bill, or anything like it, might pass one day. Also, the "licensed dealer" could be less of a problem if we all get Curio & Relic licenses. This is sorta up to local law officers, in addition to the federal portion of the application. My state issues "licenses" to gun-owners, not "permits", because our state sees the 2d amendment as our "permit." No requirement to carry "concealed", but sometimes a VERY good suggestion. A final note: stating that "Military Intelligence" is an oxymoron is ignorance. Not in "You dammm Dummy for saying that!", but in the sense that some of us, more than others of us, know why America has stayed very safe for the past 8 years. Maybe saying "French military intelligence" would be more accurate. Hmmmm?
ReplyDeleteFolks don't get your drawers in an uproar regarding IGO statements. IGO is either the sponsor of the bill or prez hussein (or his hitman)
ReplyDeleteGee,
ReplyDeleteGoogle would not let me post my first post so I,ll try not to hurt their feelings. HR45 is unconstitutial,
I read it and HR45 says the Federal Gov. can enter your home, business or any where else as long as they think guns may be there. A search warrant is not needed. Sounds like other countries, HR45 was probably copied from one of them. Has anyone seen this in the news, I haven't. We should not let this issue go away. Find other areas and pass this along.
Semper Fi
If licensing the 2nd is allowed then it would set a precedence to license all the others as well.
ReplyDeleteSome would argue that the written word is more dangerous then a gun could ever be, or religion for that matter, would you stand for a licensing of those Rights as well ?
Tyrannical government is Infamous for trying to "protect" it's citizens/ subjects from themselves.
This is precisely what the Founders feared.
Write your congressmen, write the NRA, GOA, (Gun Owners of America ) flex your rights, let them feel your rage over this issue.
Do not go quietly into that good night !

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-45
This bill is far more reaching than registration. open up the bill and search on "semi". This bill will make illegal to posses any (1) handgun or (2) semi-automatic rifle with a detachable magazine.
ReplyDeletecannot possess qualifying firearm (see above) without a license.
ReplyDeleteI already have a license to keep and bare arms its called the 2nd amendment. I will never register or license my weapons. I carry my gun every where I go. Dont get caught without it.
ReplyDeleteCan we, as gun-owners, stop with this blame the "FAR LEFT" nonsense? I am part of the FAR LEFT and I am against ALL gun control. I think we ought to be able to purchase fully automatic weapons and Surface-to-Air missiles.
ReplyDeleteIt is the ersatz left i.e., 'LIBERALS' that want to ban guns-- and frankly gun control is like many other government intrusions into people's lives (e.g., drug laws, sex-laws, et.al.)-- that is to say, usually the domain of RIGHT-WING FASCISTS (Ronnie REAGAN was in favor of Gun Control in CA when the Black Panthers were exercising their 2nd Amendment rights BTW. REAGAN was a Fascist). Lately the Neo-Fascists in the Democratic party are the ones championing Gun-Control, but they are not real LEFTISTS. They are Democrats. There is a huge difference.
The non-libertarian right (i.e., most of the GOP) is in favor of all kinds of government intrusion into our lives if they think it offends their (non-existent) god. So banning gay-sex, or drugs, or tattoo-shops in the city limits is the work of right-wing conservatives 9 out of 10 times. Therefore I suggest the right stop pretending it's the FAR LEFT that is trying to use the government to control our lives. The establishment-RIGHT is more guilty of using the STATE to control us than the REAL Left (not 'liberals, mind you--- but REAL LEFTISTS, like me!)...
The REAL left in this country is very very PRO-GUN (I am a RMGO member by the way; an NRA member; and a member of the ACLU). We are a small minority but I am sick of hearing all this nonsense about the 'far-left' being anti-gun. It is NOT true. Pelosi is not FAR LEFT she is a pusillanimous liberal with some fascistic tendencies vis-a-vis guns. Obama is no friend to the real LEFT. I didn't vote for him.
Lastly, Che Guevara was not anti-gun. Nelson Mandela is not anti-gun. Radical leftist and author Sgt Stan Goff (US Army; SF/Delta Force operator; RET) is not anti gun. Thomas Jefferson was not anti-gun. Thomas Paine was not anti-gun. All these people are/were genuine leftists. ALL of them are/were pro-gun and for the right reasons: as a bulwark against tyranny.
Lock & load!
This is pure socialism. They'll take our weapons so we can't protect ourselves from the oppressive government as they steal our rights.
ReplyDeleteGood post...there was another similar analysis I saw:
http://ianessling.com/blog/index.php/2009/02/16/new-gun-bill-hr-45-takes-aim-at-2nd-amendment/
First of all, there already are legitamate gun laws on the books, no reasonable gun owner minds a criminal backround check or a 3 day wait, but that is enough. Criminals do not buy their guns through dealers.
ReplyDeleteThis bill is the begining our the end of gun ownership in this country. Anyone supporting this bill is begging for a revolution. Maybe that is exactly what is needed. Our government is out of control and our citizenry is ignorant of the constitution as well as the bill of rights. Remember Hitler was voted in!
HR 45 would do absolutely nothing in regards to individuals acting or intending to act in a criminal manner.
ReplyDeleteIn short, HR 45 would not apply to the criminal element intending to violate current firearm laws or using a firearm in violating the laws as they currently stand.
The 2nd ammendment clearly was written to give the right to bear the arms I already have. It was written to stand up against a tyranist government that might attempt to take away those rights. I also have the right to speak up against that tyranny.
ReplyDeleteConsider this my freedom of speech, and the shared opinions, of all the gun owners, existing and future I run into.
The subjects of Illinois and New Jersey have given their gun locations and serial numbers. They are as safe now as the NYC subjects who now no longer die at the hands of criminals. If they are asked to give up their right to elect their genius leaders they follow or walk into gas chambers, i'm sure they will ask the illegal gun owners to stop the madness.
ReplyDeleteI fought for America with a rifle in my hands, I will die in America....With a rifle in my hands. SMAirborne (ALL THE WAY!)
ReplyDeleteI have never registered my sks rifles and sure don't intend to now!
ReplyDeleteI joined the NRA today.
ReplyDeleteAnd on another note:
As a member of VCA (Violent Criminals of America) I urge all law abiding people to support HR45.
This would be the biggest windfall of all time for criminals!!
Welcome to the NRA Shawn! Thanks for joining in support of our rights! Well said on criminals in favor of gun control by the way.
ReplyDeleteDustin, Awesome. Thanks for link.
ReplyDeleteGun control works really well, just ask any of the women in Australia where the rape rate has risen 300% since the gun ban.
D.C. is a great example too.
Anyone that can ignore the blatant facts can find the border, then cross it.
They can come to my home if they want. If I'm there, they'll be shot on sight. I'll say it was self defense. If I'm not there, I'll make sure they don't find anything. They can take my guns when I'm done using them, and that won't be until my heart stops pumping. March on congress. Go to Washington DC. Take the fight to them. These are our rights. Let it be known that we will fight whoever it takes to defend them. The only thing this law will accomplish is turning honest people into criminals. Molon Labe!
ReplyDeleteThis bill will never make it out of committee. It is unconstitutional and the supreme court would strike it down. Although, it is a great way for the weapons industries to keep people employed and make tons money during these hard times...hmmmm, who pays Senator Rush's campaign bills??
ReplyDeleteI know there are a few select leaders in washington who would do any thing to take away the second admendent rights. They need to be stopped. We the people will decide what are rights are. How can so few (politicians) think the have the right to tell americans what their rights are and then try to take them away. We need a national movement in this country to show Washington that they need to leave the 2nd Admendment alone. HR45 What a ridiculus farse. And who will make money from this? Thats not hard to figure out.
