UK: Walking Stick Confiscated as Offensive Weapon

I already knew self defense & handguns were banned in the UK, but I had no idea walking sticks were as well. 78 year old retired teacher Philip Clarkson Webb was walking down the street with his walking stick when he found himself surrounded by Police who took his walking stick away saying it was an "offensive weapon". He was then left to shuffle along the street as best he could with no walking aid. To add insult to injury, when he later took his receipt in to ask for it back, he was told they had lost it:

They must have known he was a troublemaker the moment they saw him.

With his white hair, wax jacket and glasses, 78-year-old Philip Clarkson Webb clearly ticked all the boxes any eagle-eyed policemen would mark as 'danger'.

And as he shuffled along the pavement towards them there was one thing above all they deemed to pose a threat - his walking stick.

The officers surrounded the retired classics teacher and informed him the 3ft wooden cane was an 'offensive weapon' and had to be confiscated . . . When he later went to collect it from his local police station in Southborough, Kent, with his police receipt, he was told it had been misplaced . . .

It appears by media reports that the only people that have rights any one cares about in the UK are the muslims. I hope I am wrong.

I don't think that you will have to worry about Obama being President. In the movie "Trading Places" there is a scene where Valentine overhears the Dukes talking about his fate. When asked if Valentine should be kept on, Mortimer says to Randolph " Do you honstly think I'd have a n----r run our family business". The reality is that the U S of A is one big corporation and it is run by very rich, very powerful and very white people. There is no way that, even if elected, Obama will live to take his oath of office. That is just the reality of the situation and not a reflection of the average American, the kind of people who truly believe in freedom and equil rights and the Constitution. People who read this blog and contribute their opinions. Just like the above is my opinion, and I hope it never comes true. Because if it does, the riots that break out across your country will make the L.A. riots after the Rodney King fiasco seem like a church social. And we all know that there are groups of both White Supremecists and Black Militants who are looking forward to just that. And it won't be confined to just the U.S. We will feel it up here in Canada and possibly the U.K. as well And if he is elected and survives and tries to quash the 2nd Amendment it will probably usher in a second revolution. This seems to be a topic that no one wants to discuss. I just hope that the republicans win. Pray that they do!
